About The Job

This role focuses on engineering-oriented UX: translating complex technical workflows into clear, efficient user experiences and ensuring that UX concepts are implemented correctly and consistently in close collaboration with development teams.

 Key Responsibilities

User Research & Problem Understanding

  • Conduct or contribute to user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and workflow analysis.
  • Analyse user needs across Deutsche Telekom’s EU National Operating Companies.
  • Translate research insights into concrete, actionable UX requirements and design decisions.

Experience Architecture & UX Engineering

  • Contribute to defining and evolving the UX vision for TDI platforms and tools.
  • Transform business and technical requirements into:
    • User journeys and task flows
    • Interaction concepts and information architecture
    • Wireframes and functional prototypes
  • Design experiences that prioritize clarity, efficiency, and consistency for technically complex internal tools.

UX Delivery & Backlog Integration

  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to translate EPICs and features into UX-ready deliverables, including:
    • Wireframes and interaction flows
    • UX acceptance criteria
    • Implementation-ready specifications
  • Ensure UX requirements are clearly defined, testable, and aligned with development workflows.
  • Promote user-centred thinking within agile delivery processes.

Implementation Support & Design System Alignment

  • Work directly with development teams to support the implementation of UX solutions across platforms.
  • Act as a bridge between UX concepts and technical implementation, ensuring designs are feasible and correctly realized.
  • Apply Deutsche Telekom’s design system and contribute to the evolution of shared UX/UI standards.
  • Support the unification of user experience across platforms through consistent interaction patterns, navigation concepts, and information structures.
  • Participate in implementation reviews and provide structured UX feedback before and during delivery.

Collaboration & Facilitation

  • Act as a UX point of contact for internal stakeholders within TDI, and related teams.
  • Collaborate closely with TDG and Group Technology to ensure cross-entity UX consistency.
  • Facilitate UX workshops, design reviews, and alignment sessions with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, Architecture).

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in UX engineering or UX-focused product development.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies applied in technical environments.
  • Ability to analyse and simplify complex workflows, systems, and technical domains.
  • Experience working closely with software developers and agile teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain UX decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid experience working in agile development environments.
  • Very good in English (written and spoken).
  • Portfolio demonstrating UX problem-solving, system thinking, and implementation-oriented design work.

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large-scale platforms, internal tools, or enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies or design-to-code handover processes.
  • Experience working with design systems at scale.
  • Exposure to automation, orchestration, or infrastructure-related tools.
