The company Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH is a 100 percent subsidiary of Telekom Deutschland GmbH and provides the nationwide technical infrastructure of the group. The Squad Active Transaction Monitoring System, as part of Tribe Common Systems and Services, is responsible for measurements, which are carried out between probes and network elements. Customer-like artificial test traffic is fed into our network and platforms. The test traffic is provided with time stamps so that response times, transit times, etc. can be determined. This differs from passive transaction monitoring, where real customer traffic is recorded, and measurement results are derived from it.
The Squad uses agile tools and methods as a DevOps team, and is responsible for the design, engineering, development, deployment, and operation of three measurement systems. The measurement probes are located mainly in Germany but also around the world and are performing millions of measurements per day. Job Description, Tasks & Responsibilities
- As a DevOps Engineer you maintain e.g. VoIP and POTS scenarios on our measurement probes and network elements. The collected data from various scenarios have many possibilities of use, e.g. for regulatory purposes in Germany.
- You will join the team developing a new system based on open-source SW, which will replace our current measurement system.
- You will be responsible for the automation of deployments in all system environments. In addition, you will maintain and further develop automated tests.
What you should know or want to learn
- Very good Linux skills (Debian or Ubuntu based are preferred).
- CI/CD experiences (building deployment pipelines).
- Creation of automated tests.
- Knowledge about Network Protocols and ability to read them (e.g. SIP).
- Experience with Python Development and Scripting Development for Linux.
- English level B2 as minimum is expected.
