At Heureka, analysts own their own data pipelines. However, we rely on a small engineering team to make sure this setup works well — that pipelines are reliable, scalable, and don’t cost more than they should. Engineers also take care of the data infrastructure that’s simply too important or complex to risk.
What you’ll be doing
- Set and maintain data engineering standards so teams can work independently and safely
- Keep an overview of the entire data architecture and help others see the bigger picture
- Work closely with BI, Tech and Product teams and connect data across the company
- Help us optimize BigQuery costs and avoid expensive mistakes
- Build and own a few critical data pipelines that the business relies on every day
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience with BigQuery and GCP
- Good knowledge of DBT or Dataform and modern analytics engineering
- Supreme SQL skills and an understanding of why some queries scale better than others
- A practical, automation-friendly mindset
- Someone with the right mindset: openminded, tech-curious and ready to help and mentor colleagues
Nice to have:
- Looker/LookML
- Python
- Keboola
- Previous work building cost optimization frameworks
- Experience with data quality frameworks and observability tools
