We are currently looking for an Associate (being admitted to the Czech Bar Association for at least 1 year) who has previous experience in an international law firm and a strong focus on M&A and corporate law to join our Prague office.
Your Role
You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex legal documents, including contract drafting, transaction documentation, and legal opinions, as well as conducting and supervising due diligence processes. As part of a smaller team, you will be deeply involved in projects and can expect an individual approach. You will participate in M&A transactions from start to finish. In addition to M&A, you will provide corporate legal advisory in the daily operations of businesses and may also be involved in other legal fields, such as employment law, litigation, and competition law. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners; however, you will be expected to handle matters independently, take ownership of assigned workstreams, and contribute to strategic discussions. You will communicate directly with clients, actively participate in client meetings and be part of signings and closings. Depending on your level of experience, you may also be involved in supervising junior team members and contributing to their professional development. You will frequently collaborate and communicate with colleagues from other Clifford Chance offices worldwide.
What Matters to Us:
- Czech Law Degree and Bar Admission – You have completed your legal studies at a Czech law faculty and successfully passed the Czech Bar Exam (advokátní zkoušky).
- Relevant Experience – Ideally 1–2 years of experience as an associate, focus on M&A and Corporate Law.
- Excellent English Proficiency – Both written and spoken. As our clients are largely international corporations, you will frequently communicate in English.
- Proactive and Responsible Approach – We expect you to handle tasks independently and take initiative in their execution.
