Bookbot is a recommerce platform that operates in 10 countries and has already sold over 5 million books. Every day we sell around 20,000 books. These are numbers we want to double every year. We are among the 16 of the fastest growing tech startups in the CEE region, we have a number of awards on our shelves and big plans in Germany and the whole Europe.
Step into the room where you'll find 100% YoY growth, rapid European expansion and book market disruption! Bookbot is looking for a Junior Chief of Staff to partner its founder, Dominik Gazdoš.
Why this opportunity matters?
- On daily basis work with Dominik Gazdoš, founder of one of Europe's fastest-growing companies.
- You will support the CEO in enforcing the working rules to ensure fast delivery, a data-driven approach and reliable processes.
- You will take a hands-on lead on ad hoc projects, from analysis through launch to their end/handover to the right person so you can move on to the next project. Ex: Building a branch network, automating customer support, new reporting system, M&A, fundrising etc.
- You'll gain insight into various departments, including BI, finance, operations, expansion and product. You'll get to know Bookbot better than anyone else.
- During your first month, you will spend half your time in operations taking photos, packing and picking up books, and the other half shadowing the CEO, experimenting with AI and learning MySQL.
- Everything you learn will be applicable anywhere. But you'll probably stay, because you're not going to find an environment this fast or intriguing.
About you
- You might be thinking about joining MBB but somehow you feel it is not enough for you.
- You have already gained experience, whether at KPMG or McDonald's. We do not want to hire recent graduates with no work experience.
- You are not looking for hybrid/remote collaboration. You understand that, to have an impact, work quickly and learn a lot, you need to be in the office where the business is happening.
Must have soft skills
- You are at your best in uncertain, constantly shifting situations, and you are always eager to progress rapidly and expand your responsibilities.
- Assertiveness. You know how to speak up when something does not make sense to you, and you are not afraid to challenge people who are far more experienced than you.
- You are organised and meticulous. You do not tolerate errors in documentation, tasks or spreadsheets.
Must have hard skills
- Understanding of finance and accounting
- You don't necessarily need a degree, but we have to prove that you have extensive knowledge in the field
- Basic ability to work with data (at least advanced Excel or some BI tools)
- English C1 and Czech C1, knowing only one of these would slow you down
Nice to have hard-skills
- Law
- Advanced ability to work with data (SQL, Python etd..)
What we offer
- If, after reading it, you don't feel that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you are probably not the right person for the job.
- Our overall budget for this position is between 78,000 and 95,000 CZK, depending on your previous relevant experience. We anticipate that you will reach a budget of 115,000 CZK within one to two years.
- You'll be working in an environment where you'll learn a lot and quickly. You will tackle unique problems and see the impact of your work.
- You will cooperate directly with our CEO Dominik and the whole amazing Bookbot team.
- 20% discount on books, VIP tariff for the sale of books, filtered coffe, parking near the offices in Kolbenova metro station. Individual development budget.
